Shaeer’s punch technique is a minimally invasive transcorporeal procedure for the excavation of Peyronie’s plaques, performed during penile prosthesis implantation. This technique aims to debulk Peyronie’s plaques from within the corpora cavernosa using punch forceps, thereby avoiding the need for extensive mobilization of the neurovascular bundle or urethra, which is often required in traditional plaque excision/incision and grafting methods. This approach potentially reduces risks such as penile hyposensitivity or urethral injury and shortens the operative time associated with plaque surgery. The primary purpose is to achieve a straight and functional penis in patients with Peyronie’s disease undergoing penile prosthesis implantation. 1

Shaeer’s Punch Technique is primarily used in the clinical setting for patients with Peyronie’s disease who are undergoing penile prosthesis implantation. Peyronie’s disease is characterized by the development of fibrous plaques in the penis, leading to penile curvature, pain, and erectile dysfunction. When severe Peyronie’s disease coexists with erectile dysfunction requiring a penile implant, the punch technique offers a minimally invasive solution for plaque removal. Patient selection criteria typically include men with stable Peyronie’s disease and erectile dysfunction who are candidates for penile prosthesis implantation. The procedure involves punching out the Peyronie’s plaques from within the corpora cavernosa after corporotomy and dilatation, followed by the implantation of a penile prosthesis. This technique has shown to result in a straight penis post-surgery, with a low risk of complications such as tunical perforations, urethral injuries, or sensory loss, which can be associated with more invasive plaque excision and grafting methods.
