What is a Penile Prosthesis?

A Penile prosthesis is a medical device manufactured with a material not harmful or toxic to the human body (e.g., silicone), that is implanted into the penis to enable the patient to have an erection on demand.

What is Three-Piece Inflatable Penile Prosthesis?

Basically, the three-piece inflatable penile implant consists of inflatable cylinders inside the shaft of the penis, a fluid reservoir under the abdominal wall, and a pump inside the scrotum. It’s a closed-circuit hydraulic system working with saline inside.

How comfortable is the inflatable penile prosthesis? How does it look and feel?

The inflatable penile prosthesis (may also be referred to as penile implant) is designed to create comfortable concealment with its virtually natural flaccid appearance. It is also designed to provide maximized rigidity with optimal girth expansion of cylinders when it is inflated.

Is the inflatable penile prosthesis noticeable from the outside?

Your penile prosthesis will not be noticeable from the outside. All components are completely concealed within the body. No one will know that you have a penile prosthesis until you choose to disclose this information.

How long will my erection last?

An erection with a penile prosthesis is on-demand and will last as long as you or your partner desires. You won’t lose your erection until you deflate your prosthesis intentionally.

Does penile inflatable prosthesis implantation prevent orgasms?

Inflatable penile prosthesis implantation carried out by a specialized physician and according to proper surgical techniques is not expected to have any effect on your ability to achieve an orgasm and ejaculation.

Can I still have a child after penile prosthesis implantation?
