Abstract Short Summary
Abstract
Objective:
To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the Ghattas technique using mesh-fixed malleable penile prostheses in patients requiring a diameter larger than 13 mm.
Key Findings:
The Ghattas technique resulted in significant improvement in erectile function, with mean IIEF-5 scores increasing from 8.3 to 24.6 (P < 0.001), and a high mean EDITS score of 94.9. No major complications occurred, and the technique provided a viable solution for patients with larger corporal bodies.
Conclusion:
The Ghattas technique safely increases prosthesis diameter beyond standard limits, offering a promising surgical option for select ED patients. Long-term studies are required.
Clinical Relevance:
This technique addresses a key limitation in malleable penile prostheses by enabling tailored solutions for patients with large corporal dimensions, improving satisfaction and reducing complications.
